Re: Sailboat for hand trolling?

My 2 cents: Sell it and buy a cheap wooden troller. i think that the cost of retrofitting the sailboat would be high and it would end up being very awkward to fish. Also when you get out of trolling you're going to be hard pressed to sell it or get your money back out of it (not that anyone ever get...

New settings for the For Sale / Wanted area

I've made it so that you must be logged in to access the For Sale / Wanted section of the website. This is to help keep phone numbers and names more private. There have been cases of people wanting to remove their contact information after time had passed from the original posting date. I hope this ...

Re: How long?

This should now be working better now - email notifications were broken and there were a lot of posts waiting to be approved - some of which were made irrelevant by the massive delay, unfortunately.

Updated software - new posts and new users working again

Hi, I'm sorry I have let this slide for so long - but I have updated the software that runs the bulletin board. The new version should fix issues with bots / spam that plagued the old board -- new posts and new users are now working again along with email notifications for subscriptions, private mes...

Re: can't recall jpg's?

Well it's late, but I fixed the problem with the picture not showing in older threads.

FYI the site is backed up in three locations, including an offsite location. I can also make a backup and make it available to download by anyone who wants it, just in case.

Cheers,
Jon

Testing Advertising...

I'm testing Google's AdSense advertising in the sidebar. You can block it with AdBlock for your web browser (and all other websites advertisements too!)

If you hate it, lemme know!

Missing Email Notifications

Hi All,

Emails were not being sent out from the forum due to an SSL certificate expiring. This is now fixed (until the new certificate expires in 35,560 days). :D

Order a replacement with fast shipping. When you receive the repaired one, it's now your backup. Or, you can float it to a friend when theirs goes out. :)

Site sponsor

We have a sponsor. Coool! 8-) The sponsor is Supertackle. They are a mom-and-pop company located in British Columbia, Canada. They make their own hoochies. I talked to the owner, Matt, on the phone (he's super awesome, eh). He mentioned some hot hoochies that are working well for Kings! Hopefully we...

Re: Fish trough construction plans/advice?

Hey, what about stainless if you want to be able to clean and have it durable. Just an old welder's point of view. Harry I've owned stainless cleaning troughs before and they were great. They were relatively thin gauge stainless which made them lighter than wood troughs, easier to clean, and basica...

Wow. Interesting time of year to be getting started and/or traveling to Alaska. In order to travel and fish in the Alaskan winter I hope he has: *) Lots of experience running a boat. *) Spent a lot of time going over the boat he bought. *) Someone experienced to travel with him. Seriously he's going...
