Re: Stainless insulators
Wow..they've come up in price...figures! Under the impression that as a nylon ins. wears a groove it has a tendency to hang the wire up and cause the wire to pigtail. guess that wouldn't be an issue if you kept your ins. changed out.

Re: Opinions On SAW Trolling Wire
I just got off the phone with them about 10 minutes ago placing my order. It seems I've seen commentary on their product on the forum that was favorable. Couldn't be any worse than what we've been stuck with lo these many years. Willing to try anything at this point. Sorry won't have an opinion on t...

Re: Wrangell narrows?
Might want to get a coast pilot for S.E Alaska. Will give you all the info you need on the narrows and more. Been at this awhile and still use it for info on new anchorages etc. Mine is in about 5 segments held together with duct tape. I think there is a version available to download for free.

Re: Chain or Springs
I just drill a hole in the upper back side of the dorsal, attach the haulback there. You have to adjust the belly out of that but have never had a fish make it up to tangle with it. Been thinking about a clip in the davit to hang the staby but jury is still out on that idea. Although it wouldn't be ...

I was fishing here in Icy Strait when Tims incident was unfolding and never heard about Johns part in it. I've known and fished around John for years. Well done sir... http://www.kcaw.org/2013/11/07/skipper- ... it-rescue/

Re: Garrett Hagen
This is another in a series of gut wrenching tragedies for boaters in S.E. this summer. I think we get a little too comfortable out there cause we usually manage to do our business relatively disaster free. That water is not our friend. It will kill and eat you given half a chance. I know what the r...
