Re: Plug hook sizing?

I have caught thousands of kings on plugs. I have hundreds, many never used. I us d to run two plugs a line fishing kings. I car...

Re: SE Alaska Salmon

4-5 days total summer Chinook season sounds about right in July days. But, we take 70% in July and 30% in August. I am thinking 3 days in July and 3-5 in August based on no solid information other than SE runs being down, hatchery runs in SE down, a dismal winter troll catch in SE, and a feeling tha...

Gives you the basic idea.

Comes off without having to touch leader, flasher or hook.

Good luck.

I no longer double crimp the sleeves. One good crimp is good enough.

IMG_3825.JPG You can see the gear setter in the back ground. If someone is interested I will forward more detailed pictures. We use gear setters my son invented about 10 years ago. This is actually the first one he installed. Since then they have evolved into quite sophisticated boxes/setters with ...

Re: Black Box

Great thread. Early in the 80's I bought my first black box to hook up on my wooden troller. I had a fabulous trip. My partner, who knew I had purchased the box, commented that I must really be happy with it. I said, "I am, it is working so well just sitting on the counter that I can't wait to ...

Re: Chum Fishing

Hello, Big Chinook, I have been dealing with a medical issue and not on here for some time. I will try and answer some of your questions: 1). What is the general flasher and color of choice? It is constantly evolving. Blue hotspots were the hot item for years. Then chrome plated Gibbs, then holograp...

Re: Black Box

I have spent time with Russell. Visited him at his home in Victoria. In my opinion there is a combination of science, magic, and psychology involved in magnetic field attraction for fish, and particularly for salmon and tuna and getting bites. I have invested thousands of dollars in tuning my 36 foo...
