Re: Favorite Meals and Recipes on the Troller

I battled Dickinson stoves for years. Then I realized if the stove isn't level it will not work right.
After I blocked up the low side and made it level (carburetor must be level) it has performed flawlessly. The oven now works accordingly.
Your welcome.

ps, biscuits would be no problem. :D

Most people get sea sick, only a few will actually hang over the side and puke.

I've called Hamilton Jet more than once about my comnav. They are located in Woodenville WA I believe. (800) 423-3509
Anyway, their tech guy "Tein" (Tee-in) really knows these things well.

Have you heard of Poly coat? I seen it on the fish buyer Chief Kawina's deck and was very impressed with what I saw. One of the guys on the buyer said they make a 2 part application that is kind of like a rubberized coating that they used. Since there is so much industrial activity on these buyers I...

Re: Black Box

mb, I imagine you just do like any boat. You put the negative on your hull and the positive on your wire while the line is submerged. Not for sure but that's what I'd do.
The gurdys are isolated therefore the wires?

Re: Black Box

I've had a black box for years. The only thing I can say for sure is it's never proved to me it could turned on a bite. It is nice to see if your voltage is up or down but I have never seen a setting that I can say "brought em in". But then again, there's probably some guru that will snick...

Re: Alaska winter Chinook changes

Yak, You're trying hard to make issues out of too many things outside the realm of your original topic of moving fish toward the winter fishery. I'm not interested in a pissing match but I stand by what I say. Keep it simple. Last, it is interesting to me that the last few comments on here including...

Re: Alaska winter Chinook changes

A couple more points. 1. "Hey, I'm ok with whatever we decide as a fleet ". Are you sure the fleet will show up to vote? How will you calculate the feedback received? Will you just accept the answers you want? Will this have a goal of 50%+1 of "the fleet" to be acceptable? 2. &qu...

Re: Alaska winter Chinook changes

25 years ago....Bristol bay..... You fail to see? Look up reallocation and see what that means. Say what you will, my opinion is this is an attempt to reallocate a resource that doesn't belong to any section of the gear group specifically winter fisherman. I don't like it. You like it. You asked, I ...

Re: Alaska winter Chinook changes

No......... This issue has been dealt with before for much the same reasons you have given. It used to be we had a lot of King Salmon around and it was easy to catch 50, 100 kings or more a day thanks to a hatchery located in Canada, Robertson Creek. These fish were huge, but weren't Alaskan - they ...

Re: Helm chair

I built mine. I needed a place for gear storing so I made a little bench I could sit on with 2 convenient pull out drawers. I called Nomar (the fish bag company) and had them make a custom cushion to fit my dimensions on top of the bench seat. They gave me a choice on foam thickness and choice of co...

Include me. I'd like to know more about a steering compass.
Is it hid somewhere like a flux gate is? or........?

Sounds interesting. I am also tired of the auto pilot having problems in a following sea.

Had to try it since I needed to save some wire. Was able to reel it right off the gurdy with the gurdy engaged. What a great idea. Works great.

Last year I removed some perfectly good PN&T wire that I had on my gurdies for 2 years only because I didn't like the 1.5 fathom spread. The stuff I put replaced it with, 2 fathom spread, not only turned brown in many places, but I've had to splice it several times because a strand or two broke ...

Re: Salt Away for Lexan Windows

Rain-x has other products such as the spray glass cleaner with repellent - just so you know. I've used it on plexiglass with some success (computer monitor box) but don't know how well it would work on lexan.
Good luck.
