No doubt many options. We've had good luck with the red plastic extension cord spools available at Harbor Freight. Price is right and easy to store and label

Re: Northill Anchor Info?

Still popular with most trollers. Two guys in the central CA area have patterns for different sizes. SS ones are quite pricy. Originally they were made to anchor seaplanes. Quite lite and many were foldable. I'd be interested in buying a back up if you decide to sell

Re: New boat with a hot Tranny...borg warner velvet drive Q

Depending how patient you are, you may want to remove the existing cooler and get it boiled out, clean and pressure tested first. I'm assuming at the system in place was adequate some time ago and a larger cooler not required. check for good water flow and that all is ok with your plumbing. Double c...

Re: Spread question

Very nice gentlemen. As we wrap up crab and look forward to the summer it was something stimulating the brain worms I have likened some of the thought process to the approach Pro bass anglers have. Guys pre-fish a lake and find a pattern only to find the next morning they cant get a bite. How patien...

Spread question

Be curious how some guys feel about this. Spread is fishing and you start getting bites on a particular stop,spoon/hoochie. After, say 6-8-10 fish, its pretty clear that fish are showing a strong preference to a specific color/spoon/hooch. As you start to change out the non producing colors for the ...

Re: Winter troll fishery

Salty,
Recently i heard pretty good fishing over the last couple weeks and sounded like price was near $10. Any truth to the rumors? We're CA crabber so no threat to crowd you out, just curious as your winter troll fishery tends to set the bar for our spring fishing.

Re: Trolling pole idea's

We ended up going with 20ft of 3" sch 80 on the bottom section and thru bolting 18ft of 2.5 sch 40 on the tips. 2ft of overlap. Realistically the starboard main section will have to be removed for crabbing, port side optional. lower section extends 6-8 inched above the yoke. looking for some fr...

Thanks Mike. We just finished rigging today. Won't know what we did right, or wrong, for a while. Big project starting from scratch.

Trolling pole idea's

Been looking around for a used set in the 30 ft range, but obviously limited by location (San Francisco) and shipping logistics. Looking for some thoughts on building a pair, aluminium being the obvious choice. We mainly pot fish (crab), but would like to add some Chinook trolling. Looking for some ...
