Re: Squid
Thank you Brother Dave. So that's for purse weiners and I'll have to find out status for jiggers because they do sell the commercial $75 permit to jig.

Squid
Has anyone ever located squid to where you could catch them in SE Alaska? I think it's a new potential fishery that I might want to jump in on. Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you

Re: 2017 Treaty Chinook Quota
So considering the winter and spring seasons we should get 110,000 to 120,000 for summer if we're lucky.

Re: Casting cannon balls
Use of a ganion for the eye. You'll have to have access to having all the weight melting at once and pour slowly. As soon as is hardened open mold and give a few minutes before you dump out. Then as soon as possible dump the full ball out and keep mold open so can cool as will be super hot. More tha...

Re: SE Alaska Salmon
I'm thinking we will get 4-5 days in the summer chinook season with some rolling over from winter season hopefully. The Columbia River forecast is now at its ten year average, 575,000 projected to return. In talking to a couple of the biologists in Alaska they thought the coho numbers would be at le...

Re: Oregon Vs California, input please
One thing Oregon has if you have a commercial Troll permit is that your allowed to take halibut, black cod and lingcod. For halibut it is based off the size of boat and if you have like a 48' boat I think it is like 5800# of halibut. There are set dates for this. Black cod you can get 2000-3000 lbs....

Re: Black Box
The Black Box I was looking at is a Russell at Pacific Net & Twine. They list it for about $800 cdn, so comes out to about $600 US funds. Does anyone know anything about these? Will defiantly do testing on boat before making any discussions on any purchases. The only thing I've heard about the R...

Black Box
I've read through a number of post on the black box. Would just like to hear a little more input on pros and cons of it? What kind of numbers are you looking for and do you need different voltage for each kind of salmon? Also pacific net & twine sells a Russell Black box is it a good one to have...
