Re: Self rescue ladder
Thanks for the responses.
I knew no one would publicly support any additional safety regulations. I did receive some private encouragement though.
I know that without a requirement most boats including mine will not have a self rescue ladder installed. Oh well...

Re: NAUD Electric Throttle Control
This part of the system. Just switches.... ive had the same system on 2 out of 3 of my boats and grew up with one on my dads boat. They work fine and parts are easy to come by if you don't buy the naud brand.you can use any momentary buttons for the clutch control like a horn button that returns up ...

Re: Slush tank capacities
In my expirience (3 boats of my own plus abou6 six of my customers) he most economical way go set up a hold to slush is with slush bags. Sometimes these bags are called "liners, bladders, inserts" Basically a waterproof bag that the mesh slush bags are hung in. Nomar, seattle tarp co, and ...

Thank you Adrian for sharing your story. Your recap Garrett's death has motivated me to advance an idea that I've had for a few years. I think that there are many reasons that commercial boats should be required to have a semi- permanent self rescue boarding ladder mounted on the stern. I know that ...

Re: quick troller/crabber combo
I've always thought the european cod jigging boats looked nice. Theres a nice one in Sitka.(not for sale) that ive been on. They plane, have standard diesel inboard, can pack 4 or 5 ton, have lots of deck space, trailerable, 32 by 8 aproximate. Sparce on comforts but have heat and bunks. I cant reme...

Re: Slush tank capacities
A 30x30x40 standard nomar brand brailer holds about 800 pounds or less of good quality slushed salmon. Build your sytem around this and you wont have any problems. If you have more room on the boat put in more bags or use the space for extra ice or for "overflow fish." Just make sure they ...

Re: Slush tank capacities
The smaller the fish, the more pounds per a given volume, like a tote.
For example i can get 6000 pounds of of 3lb pinks in the same 6 bags that hold 4500 lbs of 8 pound chums.
So, a boat can hold way more pounds of herring than king salmon.
