Troll & Long-line Radio Ad - Anthony's
Anthony's Restaurant, a fairly good sized chain, is advertising serving troll-caught coho and long-line halibut and lingcod from Sitka, Alaska and "our own" Neah Bay in a well-done commercial on Seattle radio stations. This is the first radio advertisement I have heard promoting troll salm...

Re: New to trolling and new to the site
Once and future, You described me far too well in the last sentence of the third paragraph :D I can well relate to instantly wanting to improve things and there's been nothing wrong with it so far other than the great suffering it's caused me. Mom used to tell me she had no idea how much she didn't ...

Re: Rigging a 25ft boat questions
I'll bet that was scary, that must have been some weather. It would make me want stabilizers deep too. I suppose if they hang too far back you could run a line forward. Good move on the double haul lines. For some reason this reminded me of the time that I couldn't get the boat to plane no matter ho...

Re: Rigging a 25ft boat questions
sounds like fun. You probably want the stabilizers 6-8 feet below so they won't hang too far back and get in your wires. Best wishes.

Re: 2014 Chum Prices: Anybody have a clue?
Thanks for those pictures! The busy pic reminded me of a late September derby we fished near Jefferson Head in Puget Sound. I was just out of high school and my boss had asked me to go with him and his assistant. We had a few small silvers when things slowed down. We were trying everthing and I had ...

Re: 2014 Chum Prices: Anybody have a clue?
Thanks for the article Salty. I've had some of their product and it was good. Drew, I was curious about the same thing and did some checking. Most Washington chum return to Puget Sound rivers and have to funnel through the Straits of Juan De Fuca. Last time I spoke with a member of the Makah Tribe t...

Kingsalmon,
I thought you might appreciate this:

A fair bit of money, but size, capacity, fuel efficiency & speed all seem to be there. At least it gives the idea that it's possible. Wish there were more pics. Happy hunting.

Re: quick troller/crabber combo
Kingsalmon, We fished in Alaska and Washington out of a small, 25 foot planning boat, specifically Sitka, and Westport and have a few observations: The small boat seems great for: • Speed – getting to the grounds quickly & getting home out of trouble quickly • Haul-outs cost nothing with a trail...

Re: Gaffing adventure
Thanks for the story. There is something extremely satisfying about retrieving something that went overboard. Probably more so if you are alone. We are landlubbers this year, catching up with a ton of deferred maintenance on the place and it's nice to be able to live through your experience. Hope yo...
