Buying a copper river permit

Post by Saints Rest »

A good friend (Jacob Bick) is currently a tug skipper on the Mississippi. He spent several years in Bristol Bay, fished the winter crabs, and trolled with me for a while. He's dead serious about buying a gillnetter and fishing the reds then coming down here to SE to troll. His big question is what is the start/end (average) season for that fishery. Does anyone out there know the average dates? It's my job to hunt down leads on a gillentter/permit. Any ideas where to go, who to talk to? Thanks

Sorry, I forgot to add he's currently doing ferry work down in Brazil and a bit out of touch but his money will be good!

Here's a local Cordova broker. She did good by me on an IFQ purchase. She should be a good source on permits and values.
