Well it's been quite a first week for me on the F/V Myrth. I was attempting to put the boat on the grid a couple days ago and my turn was a little wide and I stuck her right on the mud flat 100 ft from grid!!!
Thank God for a seasoned mariner with me but was on deck when pulled this stunt !!
Long story short we made mad dash to shore on skiff and aquired . 6 - 6 ft 4x4s from construction site and propped boat up straight.
Did all bottom work zincs and copper paint . Saved the 15 bucks for grid fee! Lol
Going to try and post pic.
Of course it was quite an event in Hoonah with many many photos taken by locals and of course it was cruise ship day.
Was nothing 3 shots of hose and dragging pressure washer on to flat .
Got pulled off by a great guy in a front end loader and 150 ft of big purse line.

It was a little entertaining to see that. Glad you made it off okay and are floating safely at the front dock.

Wow. Nice recovery. I guess that why we should try to go on the grid on while the tide is still coming in. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah and also maybe go look at the grid during low tide!! Lesson learned. Wish the Dogs would hurry up and get here!! Tired of dock life.
