I was posting a reply to Carol W and thought about how much we owe to our crews. So I thought I might start a thread with pictures of our crew. I have a few but thought I would start with this one of my friend Mike which in a lot of ways captures the grizzled nature of a certain crew member type.

Ben, my wife's cousin. He has fished with me for 4 years. It's sure nice having someone who knows what he's doing and who's not afraid to get cold at 6:00 am.

Kris Jordan is my older son and has been fishing with me or his younger brother or seining in SE since he was an infant. He has an uncanny ability to estimate the poundage in the hold in either a seiner or on my boat. He missed by only 10 pounds on our biggest load last summer and then we found an 11 pounder we had missed in the bottom of one of the tanks. It put him right on.

One of the keys to trolling is finding wonderful people to share it with.

I was very sorry to hear about the loss of Daniel, Eric. He sounded like a wonderful young man with a deep passion for the saltwater in general, and for using the power of the winds for sailing on the salt in particular. This has been a tough stretch for losing young people in our industry. I find myself missing the insightful posts from Garret on the Abundance when I come back to check out the Troller's forums. It is such a shame to lose people so early in their lives.
