Salty~...yes, My mast, cross tree & haul-up lines are too low for proper support. So after several bent over bow poles later..this Is a solution which eventually became obviouse. It works well for now..plans are this winter to raise the cross tree & supports. When the haul-up lines are nice & tight there Is about a 4-6" sag In the line between the poles....I got lazy & did'nt adjust after a day or two of bouncy weather Is why the photo shows It being tight..thanks for the reply salty...Salty wrote:Cool pics. Do you have a stay running from one bow to the other? Looks like a good idea.
Re: Pole pictures
Wow, great composition, framing. Spent the day yesterday out deer hunting in an aluminum skiff. What a spectacular place SE Alaska is. This isn't a pole picture but it captures the day yesterday.

Here is a pole picture from this last winter Chinook season.
Here is a picture of the sun turning green as it sinks into the Pacific a few minutes after the previous pic.

Wow,
What a great picture Tom. How did you get the water to curve like that?

Re: Pole pictures
Hmmm... Not sure, Eric. I suspect the weight of all that gold at bow's end depressed the water surface in some manner. I'll have to ask daughter Lena who is solely responsible for capturing that splendid sight. Aloha.
Re: Pole pictures
A while back I mentioned that I had a cat, "Scout" who liked to climb out on the pole. Going through my pictures for another project, I came across this shot.
Re: Pole pictures
So, Angus, are you fishing in Canada or outside of 3 miles in Alaska?
Re: Pole pictures
