Comment on the Columbia River Salmon Plan

Post by Salty »

From Save Our Wild Salmon.

As you know by now, the Obama Administration released their long-awaited plan for Columbia and Snake River salmon and steelhead yesterday.

Yes, the plan stinks. No, we are not backing off one bit.

And we have one very important action that we are asking you to take today on behalf of this endangered national treasure.

The Huffington Post (HP) is one of the nation's most widely read online media sources, by all sorts of people, including elected officials, their staff, and political junkies. (news about the lousy salmon plan got lots of coverage on the internet and print media too, but we're encouraging everyone to focus on HP today!)

Yesterday, blogger Waylon Lewis wrote a nice piece on the HP about the anticipated shortcomings of the Obama Salmon Plan.

YOU CAN HELP salmon swim into a much higher profile on the Huffington Post, and make sure many more people learn about the plight of wild salmon and a plan from the Obama Administration that weakens the Endangered Species Act and threatens the future of unique wild salmon and steelhead of the Snake and Columbia Rivers.

Post a comment on HP! It is fast and painless - I promise. Here's how to do it!
1. Click here to go to the article on HP
2. Read the article, scroll to the bottom, sign-in (also fast and painless) and make a comment about the article.

"But what do I say?" you say.

Anything you want about salmon - about how important salmon are to you, how amazing these salmon are that migrate 900 miles up a river and nearly 7,000 feet in elevation (!!), how disappointing this new plan is, that it lacks good science and largely ignores climate change, that this plan only puts salmon at further risk of extinction...

Please help salmon now - Post your comment on the Huffington Post now!

Thanks. We'll be looking for your comments!

Have a great weekend!
