Insidious

Post by Once and Future »

Here we go again: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-jui ... 40137.html

I thought I was reading a simple thought provoking article about where our food comes from. Imagine my surprise when the whole thing turns out to be a pitch why we need more fish farms, and with less environmental controls so they can compete better.

Someone is doing an EXCELLENT job of public relations for aquaculture. My understanding is the lazy media is eager to let someone else right their stories for them. A shrewd PR firm can plant this crap, but I don't know how they pull it off.

Another example is about 2 months ago there were several human interest articles on Bill Clinton that would make you think he was the second coming of Christ. This was obviously contrived by someone, not surprising in this case since he is media/political wizard. (More important in these times than being a good statesman.) My opinion of Clinton is irrelevent. My point is he knows how to manipulate public opinion.

Insidious my word for the day.
