Superior Court Allows Fish Initiative to Advance

Post by ata »

Hi All:

On July 23rd the court sided with the Cook Inlet sport interests that are fighting to eliminate a gear group through voter initiative. This should be of concern to all of us - who's next? ATA is involved in this battle, which is far from over. Remember to pay your dues and consider an additional contribution to keep us active on issues like this. We'll need 'xtra-tuffs on the ground' to help inform the locals - volunteers welcome!

Follow-up... the State has indicated that it will be appealing the Superior Court ruling that allowed the anti-commercial fishing initiative to move forward. ATA is part of the group, Resources for All Alaskans, who is involved in this case.

Your dues paid? Additional legal and general fund donations appreciated to assist in the battle, or otherwise convince the radical sport fringe that this energy would be better spent fighting our common issues. Ah well.

Game On!
