Craig trollers can get their Drill Conductor card by attending AMSEA's Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor Workshop on Friday and Saturday, November 21 & 22, 2014. The Friday session is scheduled form 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the Saturday session is scheduled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Both sessions will be conducted in Mr. Fairbanks' room at Craig Middle School, 100 School Road.

Workshop instructor, Dug Jensen, will cover:

• Cold water survival skills
• EPIRBs, flares, and maydays
• Man overboard recovery
• Fire fighting
• Immersion suits and PFDs
• Emergency drills
• Helicopter rescue
• Life rafts
• Abandon ship procedures
• In-the-water practice session

This workshop is USCG-accepted, open to all mariners, and recommended for captains and crew serving on any commercial vessel. The workshop meets the training requirements for commercial fishermen operating on documented vessels beyond the federal boundary line.

This workshop is FREE for commercial fishermen, thanks to scholarships from the U.S. Coast Guard, and $175 for all others. Register online or call AMSEA at (907) 747-3287. We hope to see you there!
