Two AMSEA Workshops in Sitka for February

Post by AMSEA »

AMSEA has a pair of workshops for trollers and other commercial fishermen in February. We have a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshop scheduled February 18 & 19. This workshop has an in-the-water practice session (weather permitting). If you haven't been in the water in your immersion suit for awhile, this is a great opportunity to make sure it's still in good shape while you brush up on your skills. If you have never been in the water in an immersion suit or boarded a life raft from the water, this class is for you! It's a valuable experience. The class meets at NSRAA, 1308 Sawmill Creek Rd and you can call AMSEA at (907) 747-3287 to register or register online.

On February 20 we have a Mariner's First Aid & CPR. This class is U.S. Coast Guard accepted and designed to meet the needs of commercial fishermen and other mariners. The class meets at Harrigan Centennial Hall, 330 Harbor Drive. Call (907) 747-3287 to register.

AMSEA instructors, Rick Petersen & Eric Van Cise, were interviewed on this morning. They discussed AMSEA's first aid and marine safety classes. If you missed it, you can listen here.
