AMSEA Workshops in Alaska, N. California, and Washington

Post by AMSEA »

Regardless of where you fish, trollers have numerous opportunities to get safety training in March. Here is a list of March Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshops. The costs vary for these classes, so click the link for cost and registration information.

3/12-13.........Crescent City, CA - DC
3/16-17.........Eureka, CA - DC
3/17...............Gig Harbor, WA - DC
3/19...............Sitka, AK - DC
3/19-20.........Fort Bragg, CA - DC
3/23-24.........Bodega Bay, CA - DC
3/28...............Juneau, AK - DC
3/28-29.........Anchorage, AK – DC

Sitka trollers can get a Mariner’s First Aid & CPR class on March 20. The cost for this class is only $95 and you get a course designed around the needs of commercial fishermen, delivered by a commercial fisherman.

Don’t see a workshop when and where you want it? AMSEA can put a workshop together in most communities for eight fishermen or more. Contact our Training Coordinator, Rick Petersen, at (907) 747-3287 about getting a class scheduled in your community.

Better still, become an AMSEA instructor and teach life saving skills in your home port. We have a Marine Safety Instructor Training scheduled in Seward, Alaska, April 14 - 19. Tuition scholarships are available to commercial fishermen courtesy of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Stay safe on the water and have productive March!
