Survival Suit Inspection Guidelines

Post by ata »

Hi All:

The attached guidelines on survival suit inspection are not new - it's a 2008 USCG document, which a member forwarded and asked me to share.

I know someone who recently felt real lucky to be in a pool when discovering that a suit leaked. So, not only is this safety check required by law - it's probably just a good idea to take a close look at those suits every year.

Live to be Salty...right?

Thanks for posting that, Dale. On the AMSEA website, we have instructions on how to maintain and test your immersion suit for leaks, including how to use a shop-vac to inflate the suit. Here's a link to the document.
