New Englander looking for work.

Hi! I am in New Bedford MA, and the government and fuel have made my mate's job on a dragger not too profitable!
I have been fishing for 18 years, with 8 of them as mate, which means on deck plus wheelhouse time. I also hold a 100 ton USCG license.
I love fishing and really don't want to go the commercial route even though I appreciate the stability they would offer.
I'm thinking about going to Alaska. Any suggestions?
