Cold Plate Refrigeration

I purchased a salmon troller last year that has a cold plate refrigeration system in the ice hold. This system was not put in with the intent to be a Freezer, only meant from what I have been told to hold the ice over longer and with better consistent temperature. I have been struggling with the water circulation the past year but believe I am soon to have this working properly. Next I have to recharge the system as I am sure the freon will need to be recharged. That said the two gauges are holding pressure in the system when off, and the system has not been run for over 10 years. Might be a spit in one hand and wish in the other and see which fills up first but an hopeful to get this up and running this years. I have a compressor, condenser, pump, sight glass, cooling grid, (probably not the right terms), on the system and the cooling is from sea water that circulate around the cooling manifold/grid.
Each plate appears to have a valve leading into it or a regulator. I have four plates approximatley 9' by 3' in dimension.
Looking for any insight, other than the obvious......of take it out ......to maintain it an trouble shoot anticipated start up problems or lessons learned.
Thanks for any help or suggestions all will helpful and help me learn.........Ocean is a blowing up down here in southern Oregon!
