I'm in the process of having my kolstrand power gurdies rebuilt, The guy I'm working with has the idea that we could replace the brass clutch cones with a molybdenum embedded UHMW, also placing a head of the same material on end of clutch finger screw which could be stainless steel. The thoughts behind this is that it would be easier/cheaper to make than kostrands version, also can make cone to fit a worn shaft. I've noticed the clutch cone on Easthopes are a "plastic" of some sort with a "plastic" head on end of finger screw.
Making a new brass clutch cone to fit the worn shaft is also a possibility which would be cheaper than buying new cone and shaft from kolstrand.
I'm looking for ideas, I feel this would be a great way to go, maybe there are other thoughts out there?
