Spoons

Post by Kelper »

I've got tons of spoons. Superiors sizes 5-8, Clendons, Katchmor, Canadians, etc brass, good, chrome, and tons of variety. Inherited them with the boat I bought. Anybody want to share any good spoon fishing strategies? Do you run spoon/flasher alternating up the lines ever? Trying to make use of the mess I have in my garage right now!

Straight Spoons are good for bow poles on shorter leaders. Straight spoons are also good for inside deep clearance issues.

In my experience you will be better off in a scratch bite by alternating spoon flasher combinations. But when they bite well I can typically do better by running all flashers on the lighter leads and spoons with short leaders on the heavy's.

Of course there is always the exception to the rule.
