USCG Regs-- Sportfishing out of a Troller

Post by Kelper »

I'm curious if anybody knows if you are sport fishing, camping, cruising out of your troller, do you need an immersion suit for everybody on board? Or will a life jacket suffice if no commercial fishing is taking place?

Some many rules, I just read the USCG boarding rules again, and it says USCG approved life jackets within the the 3mile boundary waters, and immersion suits for everyone outside that....but you pointed out something too in another post about the mood of the boarding party. I friend told the USCG when he was asked by the officer in charge, "do you have and guns on board" he said"you got guns, I got guns" a 20 min inspection turned out to be a 2 hour event to include looking for drugs....
