Stainless insulators
Re: Stainless insulators
You can see the spreader bar as an additional break safety. In all cases so far the twine has broken.
Re: Stainless insulators
When fishing bow poles I have a hook drilled into the aluminum deck cover right where the tag comes up and just clip from loop and into the hook.
Re: Stainless insulators
So every time that stop comes up or goes down you have to clip on or clip off the tagline?
Re: Stainless insulators
Yes, but just takes a second. Then you don't have to deal with fair leads. For me it balances out favorably. And I can fool with my tag length becuse I don't have to have it just right for the fair lead to ride up out of the way.
Re: Stainless insulators
Salty, why the dog bone? Also, is that the heaviest Oregon leader?
Re: Stainless insulators
I see that this thread ended when I actually posted a picture of my system that eliminates fairlead/insulators. Has anybody switched over?
Re: Stainless insulators
I used your system for Coho last summer - the only real difference being I used a large SS shrimp pot snap instead of the West Marine style snap in your pictures.
