Kubota Engine?

Post by Big Chinook »

Has anyone ever ran a Kubota Diesel engine in there boat before or know of someone that has? Would like to hear some feedback on these, good or bad. Also what do you think of turbo and why yes or no?
Thank you to all that reply.

On a troller? A turbo motor is designed to operate within a much narrower engine range at the top half of it's RPM range. While trolling you are usually in the lower half of your engine's range. So I can't think of a reason why you'd go with a turbo... Unless you are talking about running it as a trolling motor like if you were going to install this in some 47' Sunnfjord (rather than just idiling your main).

The Kubota diesel is a great engine. Super proven in terrestrial equipment (Bobcat Skidsteers etc). But you have to get it's cooling system marinized, and you have to be able to mate it to a marine transmission.
