There is a interesting article in NY times about why because of climate change squid, cuttlefish ie cephalopods are on increase while other marine life is having issues.I couldn't figure out why there is squid in the spring king and here this winter,I don't see squid much out of Sitka, but this year is different.
We always found a few in our fish in the past, but were finding a significant number of squid in Kings last July on the outside of Baranof. It was enough to cause me to try to "match the hatch" and change a lot of my hoochies over to all-white, or light brown and white. It seemed to make a difference on the deeper spreads.
