Marine Safety Instructor Training Workshop

Post by AMSEA »

Most commercial fishermen know about the drill conductor training requirements for crew that conduct emergency procedure drills on commercial fishing vessels. However, you may not have know that the U.S. Coast Guard requires that the instructor of that drill conductor workshop that you attended must have commercial fishing experience. That means that with training you can become qualified to teach AMSEA's drill conductor workshops in your home port.

AMSEA will conduct a Marine Safety Instructor Training workshop in Sitka (MSIT), September 19-24. Qualified commercial fishermen can attend this workshop at no cost thanks to a support from the U.S. Coast Guard. Co-teach your first class in Sitka on September 25 and you will be ready to teach upon approval from the USCG.

AMSEA's instructor network extends to every U.S. coast. Successful instructors share a commitment to marine safety and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others. If that sounds like you, register online or gives us a call at (907) 747-3287.
